What is Pinion?

Pinion is an experiment.

The idea behind it is very simple: people all over the world answer the same question:

"Do you like it here?"

Right here, right now, at the exact position of your device.

Nothing more. No comments. No stars. No likes. No photos. Just an honest Pin with Yes or No.

Pinion is not meant to rate places. It is meant to make the mood of people at a place visible. It is not about whether a place is objectively good or bad, but about how people feel about it in that exact moment.

There are no right or wrong answers. Each Pin is a personal snapshot - shaped by place, time, weather, mood, and the individual experience of the moment. That variety is what makes Pinion interesting.

Each Pin is like a marker on a world map. Over time, those Pins form a living opinion map of the world.

How It Works

Rules

Privacy

Pinion processes the following data to operate the service:

That’s why no cookie banner or anything similar is required under the GDPR. Consent to access your geolocation data is sufficient. Pinion does not aim to rate or track people. The focus is only on places and the question of how they are perceived.

My Vision

Imagine a world map where you can see where people enjoy spending time - and where they tend not to.

Parks, beaches, city centers, mountains, cafes, or small hidden spots: each Pin helps create a worldwide picture of how places are subjectively perceived.

Maybe one day this will become the largest collaboratively created mood map of the world.

Thank you for being part of this experiment.
